This article discusses that The Ethiopian National Cultural Troupe is in Japan from November 30 to December 7, 2013. It also talks about the different styles of Ethiopian dance the dancers will be performing for the audience, as well as how traditional Ethiopian dance is in different parts of the country.
I thought that the dancing shown in the picture was interesting. It shows a large group of both men and women dancing together. It seems like very different dance than western style, and more group-based than just two people. Also, the article talks about how the Muslim religion has influenced the dancing style in the eastern part of the country. That doesn't surprise me at all, since almost every religion has a style of dance that is characteristic of it. I found the article very interesting.
This article shows that dancing is one of the bigger parts of Ethiopian culture. Ethiopia has had humans for an incredibly long time, so the country has definitely developed its own culture traits. Dancing is unique with each of the many ethnic groups in the country, so it is possible to experience many different dances in the country. Dancing also shows how each of the ethnic groups has individually developed over 3000 years, so it preserves some of the culture of those groups too. Dancing is a very important aspect of the culture of Ethiopia.
